The Magnetic Bike Light

Introducing the Magnetic bike lights by Copenhagen parts. I was in to minds about posting this, not because the product isn't great but because my jealousy nearly didn't allow me to press post. One cold winters night last year I remember asking myself why aren't there no magnetic bike lights? Long behold these bad boys pop up before I even get a chance to place pencil to paper and design my own. 

Based on the images above (minus my jealousy) thank god they did!

Other than being magnetic these lights do something very few do, which is look good. You're probably thinking why do you need good looking bike lights, to that I say why wouldn't you? 

If unlike me you're a little less vain when it comes to cycling accessories, these lights are also practical. 

The guys over at Copenhagen parts have spent a lot of time perfecting the details so that the lights will fit to different tube diameters and stay there. And the cleverness doesn’t end there. The lights turn on when placed on the bike and automatically switch off when removed. For steel frames, they work outstandingly. Unfortunately for other materials you’ll have to look elsewhere, I guess that’s physics for you.

Two versions

They are launching two versions – Randonneur and Lode. Randonneur has a body of machined aluminium and is polished to give a very classic finish. Lode has a silicone rubber outer, available in a range of striking colours.

Both versions come in a small and cool package, made from recycled materials, that can be used to store the lights and to display them in-store. Both are extremely compact and use battery-driven LED light sources.

The lens is designed to illuminate from the sides as well as straight-on to increase visibility. The fact that they can be placed anywhere on the frame without fittings also makes it possible to use multiple sets to further aid visibility to other road users.
