Nottingham Trent Student Makes Clothes Hangers out of Bicycles

This truly is a bike inspired piece of design. Making use out of old ruined bicycles Oliver Staiano, a Notting Trent University Product Design program BA candidate, converted them into hangers. Staiano took the handle bars, a piece of the wheel, and a slot from the frame, fitted them with wood and made the hooks out of spokes from the wheel. 

The set of three includes parts taken from the wheel, frame and handlebar consequently being the names for each of the three products. Each of them are finished with quality wood and use minimal materials. The hooks are created from spokes taken from the wheels and most parts are held together purely by the tight fit as they slot into each other.

As elegant as they are, the shapes seem just a bit unconventional, each a slightly exaggerated version of existing hanger archetypes. However I think the unconventional look adds to the hangers appeal.
